How hypnotherapy works

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a modern way of working with individuals, couples or families to help resolve worries and problems in a structured and gentle way, leaving you able to enjoy your life, enabling you to reconnect with the person you want to be.

Focused on solutions

This structured therapeutic approach seeks to understand where you want to be, focusing on the changes that are most important to you, and through the setting of goals we work collaboratively to reach these and increase your feelings of well-being.

Rapid progress with hypnotherapy

The beneficial effects of Hypnotherapy are often achieved quickly, as the focus is not on the problem, instead the focus in firmly set upon your goals and using your inner strengths and resources to reach them. The best results are achieved though collaboration, a desire to change and commitment.

Relaxation and the trance state

Hypnosis is the bringing together of the conscious and subconscious minds in a trance state. It is a safe, powerful technique creating a deeply relaxed state of body, mind and emotions. This state is a completely natural one, in fact we often experience it in our everyday lives, for instance when out for a run, reading a book or completing every day tasks. The hypnotherapist guides you into this relaxed state by the sound of their voice. You are always in control of this sensation and can bring yourself out of the trance at any time.

Effective for many anxiety-related conditions

Registered with the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapists and the Complimentary and Natural Healthcare Council, I have experience of working with a range of anxiety-related conditions, pain management, low mood, fears, and self-confidence.

People often have some misconceptions or even concerns about hypnotherapy, having seen stage hypnotists on the TV. Rest assured that clinical solution focussed hypnotherapy is nothing like that.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions required differs between individuals and will depend upon a client’s circumstances and what it is you wish to achieve. We will discuss the possible time scales during the initial consultation.

How effective is it?
